The BRT 006 is an optical distance measuring device with the base in the standpoint and automatic reduction. The designation 006 stands for the achievable route accuracy: 6 cm at 100 m.
The optical distance measurement with a base at the target point is particularly difficult in urban areas, which impair the speedy measurement process. First and foremost, these are the ever-increasing traffic and the inaccessible destinations, especially in densely built-up urban areas.
These reasons were decisive for the development of an automatically reducing optical rangefinder with a base in the device, the base reduction total station BRT 006.
The BRT 006 offers i.a. the following advantages:
1. The best possible bridging of the obstacles in the measurement sections.
2. Marking of the pick-up points by means of a small target board, range pole or similar, thus eliminating the marking difficulties caused by the erection of horizontal and vertical laths.
The basic reduction total station BRT 006 is suitable for all geodetic work in which for the distances measured with a double coincidence and automatic reduction, a mean error of ± 0.06%, a mean error of ± 40cc (± 15 ") a mean error of ± 60cc (± 20") is permissible once a direction is measured in a telescope face.
The instrument has a horizontal and a vertical circle. The route is determined by means of a parallactic triangle with the base at the station. The two partial images of the horizontally divided image in the optics must be brought into line for distance measurement, which is done by moving a deflecting prism on a measuring rail. The distance is read on the measuring rail.
