Electromechanical rotary converter (Type "ZK 36") in a housing
Device type: This is a piece of historical military communications or radio
equipment (likely from the post-war era or military surplus stocks,
such as ČSLA or Wehrmacht-style gear) that utilizes a "ZK 36" type converter
for power/voltage conversion.
At the bottom sits the dynamotor/converter with the "ZK 36" nameplate
(showing input and output voltage specifications);
above it is an open switching and distribution block containing terminal strips and capacitors.
Usage: Such devices were used to generate higher anode or operating voltages
for tube-based radios from a low DC voltage source (e.g., a battery).
Functionality not tested; the unit is heavy.
