Prussian Shoulder Board, Kingdom of Prussia for General Staff Officers
Prussian Shoulder Board, Kingdom of Prussia for General Staff Officers
Prussian shoulder board for General Staff Officers. Braided in the so-called Russian braid, typical of higher officer ranks, General Staff Officer. Braid made of gold-colored metal fiber. Prussian crown in the center, probably before 1918, indicating military affiliation. Monogram below. Such shoulder boards were worn by adjutants, guard regiments, and General Staff officers.
Rank Affiliation: High-ranking officer in the service of the King, possibly of the Guard. The combination of crown and monogram indicates a personal connection to the royal family. Adjutants wore these with pride because they had a personal connection to the monarch.
