Stamped on the lid and bottom of the tin
Inscription on the sign in the lid:
Memento Mori Translated: Remember the death
A skull is placed in the middle
Inscription under the skull:
memento mori quia pulvis es et in pulverem reverteris
Symbolically translated: Remember that you are dust and to dust you will return
In the middle of the outside of the tin is a portrait depicting Alexander II, Emperor of Russia (1855 - 1881)
