SA Service Dagger, Early Variant - Julius Bahrl Jr., Solingen, NS stamped with blister finish and hanger
Service dagger of the Sturmabteilung (SA), early production 1933-1935, from the extremely rare manufacturer: Julius Bahrl in Solingen. Overall length 37.5 cm.
The company produced approximately 1,000 SA service daggers, which, with a rarity rating of 9 out of 10, are considered highly rare.
The manufacturing company was located at Waardt 4, Splingen-Merscheid.
Blade:
The Julius Bahrl Jr. logo is a diamond-shaped emblem in dark gray on a transparent background on the reverse of the blade.
On the front of the blade is the SA motto, with the inscription: Alles für Deutschland (Everything for Germany).
The blade is in excellent condition, still bearing the original polishing marks left by the sword polisher during the blade's sharpening process, which are only visible on unpolished blades.
Scabbard: The scabbard is made of iron and retains its original bluing. The fittings are each held in place by two small screws on the side. The ring for the leather hanger is located on the upper fitting. There is a small dent on the lower part of the fitting.
Hilted: Brown wooden grip. The national eagle on the grip is nickel-plated, above which is the enameled SA emblem. These are secured with internal staples. Both crossguards are made of aluminum. The lower crossguard bears the NS group stamp for Lower Saxony.
The leather hanger is slightly cracked in the area of ​​the scabbard ring.
A perfectly matched, very well-preserved dagger that has never before been in a collector's hands.
