SOLD OUT
RKR 40 for artillery in rare gray, original paint, optics as well as cover mirror and transport box, cable for reticle lighting.
Very rare piece in the original transport container, painted contemporary in gray, wooden transport box with abbreviated lettering RKR 40.
The set is complete with the directional circle 40, the cover mirror, the battery box in sand color and the cable for reticle lighting, switches and plugs. The directional circle has the rare original color gray !! Most RK40 were painted in beige or green. Magnetic needle stiff.
The directional circle 40 was made of light metal and is the further developed model of the directional circle 31, RK31.
Except for the battery box, the device is completely from one manufacturer. Transport box, RK40 as well as cover mirrors and cables for reticle lighting are from the manufacturer cme, Gebrüder Wichmann Berlin.
The directional circle 40, lighting set directional circle and cover mirror are marked accordingly. The Wichmann brothers were, as far as I know, the only ones who manufactured the transport box. The battery box in sand color with WaA stamp
The box has two separate compartments for storing the accessories. In the larger area, with the cover accessible from above, there is the directional circle and the cover mirror. The battery box with cable for the reticle lighting is housed in the compartment accessible from the side.
The directional circle is a theodolite-like angle measuring device with telescopic sight and attachable cover mirror. It has a side and elevation pitch circle, as well as a bussole for defining the side angle. The directional circle was used in the field artillery for fire control of artillery weapons. The blue triangle is a lubricant mark. The cold grease should be operational down to -50 degrees. The red M probably stands for NOT Magnetic
Height = 31.5 cm, width = 10 cm, weight = 1240 g.
Dimensions wooden box L x W x H = 19 cm x 14 cm x 34 cm.
Total weight = 4300 g.
