Unknown artist, in the manner of Jean-Francois Theodore Gechter (Paris 1795 - 1844 Paris).
A knight on horseback is ready to strike with a war hammer. His opponent pulls the horse and threatens him with the sword.
It is probably the famous battle scene between Karl Mertell and Abderam, king of the Saracens. Second half of the 19th century.
Height approx. 35 cm, width approx. 33 cm, depth approx. 19 cm
Weight approx. 7.2 kg
Good condition, gilding partly rubbed off, beautiful patina.
