Very fine Luftwaffe officer's dagger with an orange grip, manufactured by SMF, Solingen.
The dagger is flawless, in mint condition, as if it were brand new.
The blade is bright, with the manufacturer's logo "SMF Solingen" and Luftwaffe acceptance stamp on the reverse, likely marked No. 5 for the Solingen metal goods factory Stöker & Co. The wire wrapping is completely intact. The pommel features gold anodized crosses on both sides, with 99.9% of the gilding on the crosses intact. It comes with a sword knot and hanger. The scabbard is free of dents, etc., and the blackening is 100% intact. The hanger shows minimal signs of wear. Superb condition.
Overall, an early Luftwaffe SMF dagger with acceptance stamp, rare!
