Autograph – Writer Heinrich Lilienfein (1879–1952), postcard signed by his own hand and addressed to a *Geheimer Justizrat* (Privy Councilor of Justice), 1935.
Light beige postcard (approx. 14.5 x 10.5 cm) featuring a typewritten location and date: "Weimar, Schillerhaus, November 29, 1935." The text continues in typewriting: "Dear Privy Councilor of Justice [Geheimer Justizrat], we acknowledge receipt of your letter [...], which we are forwarding to the curator of the Schillerhaus, Prof. Dr. Scheidemantel, as the authority responsible for this matter." Includes the stamp of the General Secretariat of the German Schiller Foundation (Deutsche Schillerstiftung) and a handwritten ink signature: "Dr. H. Lilienfein." The reverse side bears a cancelled postage stamp and the recipient's address in typewriting. Heinrich Lilienfein was a prominent German writer; his works include *Die Heilandsbraut* (1903), *Der Stier von Olivera* (1910), and *Das fressende Feuer* (1932). He earned his doctorate in philosophy in 1902. In October 1933, Lilienfein was among the signatories of a declaration of allegiance to Hitler, titled "Vow of Most Loyal Following" (*Gelöbnis treuester Gefolgschaft*). He served on the board of the Goebbels Foundation for Cultural Workers (*Goebbels-Stiftung für Kulturschaffende*), was included on the "God-gifted" list (*Gottbegnadeten-Liste*)—compiled by Hitler and Goebbels—starting in 1944, and was awarded the title of professor in 1937. His honors include the Goethe Medal (1932) and the Swabian Poets' Prize (1939). Provenance: The autograph collection of Gertrud Hoffmann and her daughter Else Karmann—"A German Autograph Collection, 1850–1967."
