Combat Knife 87, a survival knife of the National People's Army (NVA), used by Air Assault Regiment 40, the NVA's only airborne unit, as a bayonet for the AK-47, matching serial numbers.
Approximately 3,000 of these knives were manufactured. This particular knife has serial number 2594; the number on the blade matches the number on the pommel. Condition 1. The overall length is 33.0 cm, and the total weight is 457 g.
The handle is made of plastic. It is a black plastic handle with finger grooves,
a screw-on black steel pommel with a serial number matching the blade number,
with a locking mechanism and striking plate, and a single-edged blade. Sharp sawback blade
with pandura point, millimeter scale and protractor on the blade,
blade number 2594. Inside the handle is a survival ampoule,
still securely in place, with original instruction manual, storm batons,
sewing needles, fishhooks, thread, etc. The closure of the survival ampoule
also serves as a magnifying glass,
