NVA Honorary Gift for 25 Years of Loyal Service COMPLETE: Miniature Dagger & Rare Certificate 1990 (Rainer Eppelmann)
NVA Honorary Gift for 25 Years of Loyal Service COMPLETE: Miniature Dagger & Rare Certificate 1990 (Rainer Eppelmann)
A rare and 100% complete award set from the National People's Army (NVA) from the momentous period of German reunification in 1990.
This is the honorary gift for 25 years of loyal service, awarded to Lieutenant Colonel Gunter Schäffer.
The set is identical to the recipient and consists of:
1. The original award certificate dated August 28, 1990 (issued in Berlin). The document bears the rare original signature of Rainer Eppelmann in his capacity as Minister for Disarmament and Defense.
2. The original book-style case/box with velvet lining and clear acrylic cover (including embossed GDR state emblem).
3. The original NVA miniature dagger (approx. 18 cm long) on the applied oak leaf garland.
A historical rarity for collectors:
This certificate was issued just a few weeks before the official German reunification and the subsequent dissolution of the NVA in October 1990. Documents from this final phase of the "Ministry for Disarmament and Defense" under the De Maizière government are extremely rare and almost impossible to find in their complete set with the physical commemorative gift.
Condition:
• Certificate: Very good condition for its age (see photos), no major tears or damage.
• Box & miniature dagger: Well-maintained condition. The velvet lining is clean, the emblem on the acrylic is well preserved. All gemstones on the garland are present.
A genuine piece of history for any discerning GDR and NVA militaria collection.
