A rare and exceptionally prestigious GDR / NVA presentation dagger—intended for a General or Admiral—complete with a high-quality presentation case and the original engraving: "Ministry for State Security." This exclusive General’s dagger of the National People's Army (NVA) stands out due to its elaborate craftsmanship, fire-gilded elements, and its impressive presentation within a red leather case featuring gold embossing.
The dagger features a yellowish synthetic grip, a fire-gilded crossguard, and an artistically crafted pommel bearing the GDR national coat of arms. The double-edged, double-fullered blade bears the engraving "Ministry for State Security," underscoring the historical significance of this extraordinary collector's item.
The blued iron scabbard is fitted with gilded mounts and two suspension rings. The upper mount features a relief depiction of the GDR national coat of arms alongside a decorative oak branch.
Of particular note is the magnificent presentation case, crafted from red leather and featuring a gold-embossed GDR national emblem and the inscription: "For the Protection of Workers and Peasants." The interior is lined with high-quality red fabric. The presentation plaque with the engraved inscription, originally located inside the case, is missing.
