The set consists of an M18 steel helmet manufactured by C. Thiel & Söhne (Lübeck) and two identification tags bearing the name of the wearer, Kurt Walter.

However, an unequivocal identification of the Kurt Walter associated with this set as that well-known Knight's Cross recipient has not been conclusively proven; it is merely considered a possibility.
For this reason, the helmet is expressly not offered as a verified grouping belonging to a Knight's Cross recipient.

Condition
The helmet is in original condition consistent with its age and use, showing clear signs of wear and storage.
The shell exhibits corresponding signs of abrasion, scratching, and aging. The Reichswehr insignia shows significant wear and partial rubbing. However, the interior inscription "HPT. WALTER" remains clearly legible.
