Original 1937 Schmidt Field Balance for Mineral Exploration (in Transport Case)

Offered for sale is an exceptionally rare, historic Schmidt field balance (magnetometer) of Soviet manufacture, dating from 1937.
This precision geophysical instrument was produced at the famous "Gidrogeopribor" (Гидрогеоприбор) factory in Leningrad. It is an early model bearing the very low stamped serial number 14. The device is based on the German design by Adolf Schmidt (field balance) and was used to measure magnetic field anomalies during geological surveys and mineral exploration in the USSR.

• Special feature: Original Russian labeling plates ("Гидрогеоприбор" and transport lock indicator "Арретировано").
• Housing: Original wooden case with protective red velvet lining.
• Condition: Authentic original condition consistent with age. A museum-quality collector's item representing the history of pre-war Soviet technology.
The metal plate bears the inscription of the Soviet factory "Гидрогеоприбор" (Hydrogeopribor) in Leningrad, dated 1937.

The identification plate is clearly legible, and the spirit levels are intact.
Upon visual inspection, all parts appear to be in good order. As no operating manual is available, the device's functionality could not be tested.
