Reich Labor Service (RAD) Leader's Dagger, Eickhorn
RAD – Reich Labor Service Leader's Dagger in aluminum. Model 1937. The overall length is approximately 39.8 cm. The dagger bears the manufacturer's logo "Original Eickhorn Solingen" on the blade. A rare version of this dagger. The plister grind is fully intact on both sides of the blade, as if this dagger had just been issued.
Aluminum handle with two white plastic grip scales, which are attached by a screw on the back. The grip scales are approximately 2 mm loose but can be tightened.
The handle is shaped like an eagle. On the front of the blade is the RAD motto etched in Gothic script: "Arbeit adelt" (Work Ennobles). On the reverse is the Carl Eickhorn logo: "Original Eickhorn, Solingen". All blade etchings are deep black.
The blade is very clean, without rust, nicks, or similar defects.
The scabbard is straight with a grained background showing signs of wear. The throat is held in place by two side screws. Both screws are undamaged. Both carrying rings for the belt are present.
