Former SS/Wehrmacht helmet, M35 apple green with double emblem and acceptance stamp.
The manufacturer F.W. Quist manufactured these helmets for the Army, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and SS. Only the attached emblems allowed us to determine the helmet's exact use.
This helmet is an authentic and original example of an M35 steel helmet with the original double emblem.
The helmet has the year stamp 1938 and an illegible manufacturer's stamp on the leather chin strap.
In addition to the police, the SS and, from 1937, the Kriegsmarine were also supplied with apple green steel helmets.
The 1940 regulations required the removal of the right-hand badge featuring the national flag. Both badges were presumably reattached after 1945.
The helmet is stamped on the neck with lot number 180, and on the side with manufacturer Q66 for the manufacturer F.W. Quist, as well as a central blue acceptance stamp with the year 1937; the rest of the inscription is illegible. The chin strap is stamped with the year 1938; the manufacturer's mark on the strap is illegible. For a better color comparison, we also photographed the helmet in daylight.
