Anton Wingen Othello Knife, Scout/Camp Knife similar to Hitler Youth (HJ) knives, manufactured by Othello Solingen.
The Anton Wingen steel goods factory in Solingen was once the manufacturer of the well-known Hitler Youth knives.
The company was founded in 1888 as a scissors factory. Between 1901 and 1904, new production facilities were built on Gasstrasse in Solingen. In 1904, a drop forge was integrated into the company. During the First World War, the company supplied armaments. In 1924, a new factory building was erected, which is now unused and in a deplorable state. The company also supplied armaments during the Second World War. The company was dissolved in 1997. The remaining stock of finished and semi-finished goods was acquired by a small cutlery manufacturer from Solingen, along with the OTHELLO trademark, while machinery and tools were exported to Yugoslavia.
